Kentmere in colour.

Moody but seductive.
It's a valley that always looked thundery and dark through the sentry hills of the front of the valley - looming over the lusher green landscapes leading from Kendal. But beautiful and irresistibly sketch able.

This is practically my first landscape watercolour sketch - done on a baking hot summer's day, so hot the paints dried quickly, always a blessing, (better than the days you sit in a freezing breeze hugging a cup of tea willing pools of pigment to dry out for heaven's sake).

It's the seed that germinated. I learn't so much from it, and still do.
